"O Allah, I am Your servant, the son of Your servant, the son of Your maidservant, my forelock is in Your hand, Your command over me is everlasting, and Your decree for me is just. I ask You by every name belonging to You which You have named Yourself with, or revealed in Your Book, or You taught to any of Your creation, or You have preserved in the knowledge of the unseen with You, that You make the Qur'an the life of my heart and the light of my chest, and a departure for my sadness and a release for my anxiety."
(Musnad Ahmad)

Hadith on Patience in Adversity

"How wonderful is the case of the believer; there is good for him in everything and this is not the case with anyone except a believer. If prosperity comes to him, he expresses gratitude to Allah and that is good for him; and if adversity befalls him, he endures it patiently and that is good for him."
(Sahih Muslim)

"No fatigue, nor disease, nor sorrow, nor sadness, nor hurt, nor distress befalls a Muslim, even if it were the prick of a thorn, but Allah expiates his sins thereby."
